What is DHA?

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid which is a necessary nutrient for the body, especially the brain. It is found in abundant in deep water fish, such as tuna. DHA is essential for brain cells and retinas as well as the process of Myelinogenesis which is the proliferation of myelin sheaths throughout the nervous system. 60% of the tissues around the brain are composed of DHA. Needless to say that DHA is an essential component to a properly functioned brain.
